A BFF or a VFF?

From ancient times Language has had an evolving and dynamic process of development. Going through wars, political breaking paradigms, a red western dragon who is trying to eat the world and an extinction of languages because of their lack of native speakers, Language deals with a steadfast change.

As a sort of thinking, in life it must be taken several decisions in order to achieve something while living. One of those decisions is to pick a “BFF” (which stands for Best Friends Forever). It is quite important, especially if you want to reach a valuable goal, whether in group or individually, to get something in the near future. You might wonder …Why is it important to have a VFF? Simple. Because we cannot walk alone.  As a famous quotation from French philosopher Albert Camus maintains “Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.”

A BFF is an arbitrary designation that a person, ladies most of the time, do in order to trust in each other. As Venezuelan I am friendly enough to let you know that in our land we reach a hand if someone needs it. Unfortunately, our current situation as a nation has shown an upside-down version of this picture. Not from Venezuela as a whole or as Venezuelans acting different with others as well but the little world WITH Venezuela. No one has reached a hand, a “peace process” (like in Colombia) or has brought their flags in order to support a future battle on the field (like in Game of Thrones) while the roughest moment in our history is the one we are dealing with.

Nowadays, I believe in a new version of friends and that is related to the inner soul that we all have inside. Sigmund Freud established that we have some sort of voices, technically “states of mind”, that makes us take actions and decisions in our day by day. That is why I present to you a new friend: “VFF”, which stands for Venezuelan Force Faith. It is a friend that must stay around us. If you are Venezuelan, don’t let it go. If you are a foreigner, raise your hand for us.  Do not let her leave. Do not let him leave.

Currently, people is leaving the nation, making easy money illegally out of everything and even saying goodbye to their relatives at airports or bus stations across the country as a last sigh before breathing under this ocean of mistakes. Come on, “VFF”! we must be better than that. For those who are leaving there are no complaints about since it is a generation who has lost a remarkable future that was promised and expected but was stolen and vanished from the desire of the Big Brother. From those who are making easy money out of anyone in every way, I would like to recall them that in the past our Liberator Simon Bolivar declared and signed a file titled Decree of War to the Death in order to give a final choice to population, “fight with me or against me”. I declare to you: stop acting in such manner and start improving as equals of this planet and study and be better citizens or simply go to hel…I mean! Heck! I mean Jail! Go to Jail! Yes! That is the word.

Finally, for those who are saying goodbye with sorrow (because are not flying away with their little puppies) or have no ways to get out of this reality, I just remained them that this “VFF” would not leave them. Until the end of time, from the beginning of life, elders have had and believed in the magic of “hope is the last to die” sentence. The Venezuelan Force Faith must dance with us at all parties, drinking a glass of wine or screaming of joy while caring about our babies smiling in arms. While teaching a kid how to read or building a solid foundation of kindness and spirit for his comrades, this VFF always will have a hand to tell you…

-“Keep walking, my friend. Keep walking.”-

How lucky we are to have such VFF. Let’s walk too!
